Hilton Garden Inn
Today we are staying at a hotel in Fort Washington. Tessa is taking a shower. Lydia was 8 weeks old yesterday. She's lying on the bed on her back and I am leaning over her, on my forearms, making conversation. She gives me two big, wide-awake smiles. This is a first. She also is talking to me emphatically, responding to my encouragement. Also a first. Lastly, she's using her arm to touch my face over and over. She already does this pretty well with hanging toys, but this is the first time she's touching me. Some family has expressed doubt that she's really in control of where her arms are going, but I've seen her reach for and hit particular toys repeatedly-while focused on them with her eyes. She's doing this now with my face.
